Honley sparkled with its Christmas Lights Event!

Honley village celebrated an amazing Christmas lights switch on organised by the Honley Business Association. Entertainment included a special performance by headline act Lucy Milburn, semi-finalist of The Voice 2018.

The packed programme in Honley Park included kiddies’ fairground rides, lots of fabulous food and drink, plus on-stage entertainment including local jazz and swing singer Rhys Hammond Booth, and showcased the best of young talent from Honley High School, Honley Samba Band, and Youth Band, plus Santa was in his magical grotto!

The traditional Christmas parade began outside St Mary’s Church, with the Yorkshire Traction Honley Band playing, accompanied by St. Mary’s Church Choir as Santa’s sleigh arrived. The procession through the village was absolutely packed with onlookers creating a spectacularly festive atmosphere. Lucy Milburn’s performance wowed the crowd, followed by a dazzling firework finale. All in all, a festive, sparkling, extravaganza that got everyone in the Christmas spirit, with all proceeds for the benefit of the village!
