Have you tried pilates?

There are lots of ways to work out in Honley,  but if you really want to improve your core strength, and maybe even get rid of those painful little niggles while you’re at it, why not give pilates a go?

Inspire Pilates, in Queen’s Business Park, next to the main Woodhead Road, takes pilates to the next level.

You can still enjoy the more traditional mat pilates, which involves isolating muscles and holding static positions, which is excellent for people with joint problems. But there’s so much more to discover at Inspire Pilates.

Prefer your exercise to be more dynamic? Then book on to a Barre Fitness class. As if it isn’t hard enough already, Barre Fitness combines pilates with ballet moves. And if you’re really up for a challenge, then try Advanced High Intensity Power pilates (HIp pilates). These choreographed routines will give you a whole-body workout like you’ve never experienced before.

Then there’s the Reformer classes. While these amazing pieces of machinery might look like something out of a sci-fi movie, they’re great fun and a really effective workout. They use springs to provide resistance, increasing balance, strength and core stability.

Personal instruction from an experienced trainer

To get the most from pilates you need expert guidance, which is exactly what you get from Sara Hunter, who owns and runs Inspire Pilates. An accredited personal trainer, Sara first started teaching pilates in 2003 and never looked back.

Sara’s pilates sessions are enjoyed by anyone from 16 to 116 (subject to health checks)! Her sessions can help with rehabilitation from injury or illness, or enable elite athletes to improve their strength and fitness. Everyone has a health check and consultation before starting, so Sara knows how to help you get the most from each class.

If you enjoy the social aspect of exercising then you’ll love Sara’s group classes. She even runs a male-only session once a week. If you prefer to go it alone, or require intensive rehabilitation, then check out Sara’s 1-2-1 sessions.

Beginners are always welcome, and you can build your strength and fitness over time. Sara offers beginner and mixed level classes within all the different disciplines. After all, pilates might look easy, but wait until you give it a go!

If you’re up for the challenge or looking to try something different, then book an Inspire Pilates class today.
