Strong Ethics
When Sarah Allen established Redefined Medispa six years ago, she did so with a strong ethic.
The qualified midwife and independent prescriber didn’t want to set up a medical aesthetics clinic to offer generic, one size fits all, quick fix treatments.
She wanted to fully understand her clients and to find the right solutions for them as individuals.
“I spend a lot of time asking my clients what they want to change and why,” said Sarah.
“Before suggesting any treatment, I take into consideration their overall mental and physical health and wellbeing and signpost to other services if necessary.
“I am really strong on ethics. If I don’t think a client wants a treatment for the right reasons, then I will help them to consider other options.”
Focus on Client Wellbeing
Since moving her medical aesthetics clinic to kynd in Southgate, Honley, Sarah has been able to team up with other local businesses – including resident life coach Hannah Vernon – to support clients.
Alongside her aesthetics clinic, Sarah continues to work as a midwife and independent prescriber in Manchester and Wakefield, enabling her to remain a registered medical professional with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
Redefined Medispa’s clients tend to be women in their late 30s to early 60s – often peri-menopausal or menopausal.
“My clients are just as important to me as the women and babies I support within the NHS,” she said.
“The medical aesthetics industry is notorious for attracting vulnerable people. People turn to it because they feel self-conscious and have low confidence. I choose to support all my clients by offering them evidence-based treatment options to suit their needs and budgets. Treatments don’t have to be injectables they can come in various forms.”
More Than Just a Service
Redefined Medispa specialises in advanced medical aesthetics and skin health. Services include non-surgical anti-ageing solutions, as well as skin treatments.
Sarah can connect clients to renowned plastic surgeons. She also holds feminine wellness clinics for patients needing post-chemotherapy or hormonal change treatments.
Treatments provided include Botox fillers, with lip enhancements being a popular choice, as well as HIFU (High Intensity Focused Ultrasound) non-surgical facelifts, and, a popular celebrity choice, Radio Frequency Microneedling for lifting and tightening. Sarah also provides a full aftercare service.
“I work with my clients. I like them to walk out of my clinic still looking natural, just a more confident version of themselves.”
A Red Carpet Glow
Another treatment Redefined Medispa provides is deep cleansing Hydro Facials to help rejuvenate and brighten skin.
“Think of it as your red-carpet glow. It’s very popular among brides.”
Sarah’s best tip though is SPF (Sun Protection Factor).
“I am a great believer in wearing SPF. I would rather my clients wore SPF for six months, than came to me not wearing it and asking for Botox.
“I am all about educating people and I think this should be standard in the industry.
“Think of running a race. Your in-clinic treatments are the sprint and your homecare treatments are the marathon.
“Just like diet and exercising, you can choose to do one or the other, but it’s always better if they work together.”
