Fitzpatrick’s fuels and more

Like many successful businesses, Fitzpatrick’s grew out of a determination to do things better for their customers. What started as a side-line selling bundles of kindling from their garage, turned into a successful family fuel merchant business.

Fitzpatrick’s sells a good range of quality solid fuels, including kiln-dried firewood, smokeless coals, heat logs, wood pellets and more. They first opened in Milnsbridge but when the site in Honley, near the pedestrian crossing at the bottom of Station Road, became available, the family jumped at the opportunity to expand their operations.

Ready to burn

Fitzpatrick’s are keen to point out is that their fuels are very high quality, and responsibly sourced, as Catherine Fitzpatrick explains:

“We only sell smokeless fuel and firewood that are Woodsure Approved and certified by the ‘Ready to Burn’ scheme. Their firewood range, including alder, birch, ash, hornbeam and oak, are all guaranteed to have less than 20% moisture content.

“This gives a cleaner, longer burn, making them more cost effective and much better for the environment than wet or unseasoned logs.”

With a large range of fuels to choose from, at competitive prices, there is something for everyone, and if you’re new to wood burners or multi-fuel stoves, or would simply like some advice, the team and very knowledgeable and eager to help.

Tons of aggregates and garden supplies

More recently, thanks in part to the opening of their Honley depot, Fitzpatrick’s has broadened their product offering to include a comprehensive garden range. This includes aggregates and garden stone in bulk bags, and easy to handle retail bags, a full range of compost and soils, and a large selection of healthy bedding plants, hanging baskets, shrubs, and trees.

“For the summer, we have garden furniture, fire-pits & chimeneas, and general garden accessories, including pots & planters, water features, trellising, and gardening tools,” Catherine added.

Delivered to your door

Fitzpatrick’s offers a delivery service locally, with Hiab crane-off facilities, meaning they leave your order where you want it, not just on the pavement.
