Family-friendly local pub

The Foresters Arms is a family-friendly pub that has stood the test of time. There are historic accounts of villagers enjoying The Foresters’ hospitality in the 1860s and, in that sense, little has changed today.

Today The Foresters Arms, run by Stewart and Ruth, retains its community feel and is still a place where locals and visitors alike can enjoy a drink and a natter with friends.

They also love dogs and there’s always a treat or two on the go for their four-legged regulars. If you love the fresh air, there’s an outdoor seating area, which is a perfect for warmer days and balmy evenings. And parking isn’t a problem for your designated driver, as there is a large car park to the rear of the pub.

Sports and more

What has changed in recent years, is the entertainment on offer. These days the pub caters for sports fans too, and shows all the major sports channels. Whether you love your football, rugby, cricket or other sports, the Foresters is the place to catch all the major matches and events.

They also support local sports and are home to Honley FC. The Foresters is usually the first port of call for post-match refreshments.

If you prefer to exercise your mind, then there’s a quiz night every Sunday evening from 8.15pm. Broadcast on the screens it’s free to enter, and includes 6 rounds plus a picture round to give your brain a workout. For the winning team, there are 4 drinks up for grabs. There are even more interactive games on offer, including Play Your Cards Right, and a rolling jackpot game. It’s the perfect way to end the weekend.

Even outdoors is warm and welcoming

During the Covid pandemic, Stewart and Ruth installed an enormous marquee at the back of the pub to provide an all-weather outdoor space. It’s now equipped with heating to make it (relatively) warm and welcoming all year round.

If you still prefer to be indoors in winter, then the cosy snug is probably more up your street. It’s a quieter part of the pub where you can enjoy a relaxing drink.

Craft ale to cocktails

Talking of drinks, The Foresters Arms has something for everyone. There’s a wide selection of beers, including Moretti, Coors, Strongbow, Guinness and Cobra on draught. Cask ales include Taylors Landlord, Taylors Golden Best as well as 2 guest ales.

They also offer a very reasonably priced wine list, and pretty much any spirit you can think of, along with a variety of soft drinks.

More recently they introduced a range of cocktails, including espresso martinis and porn star martinis. These are perfect for the special night out with friends.

Not your traditional pub grub

Although The Foresters Arms doesn’t sell food, they have a close and long-standing relationship with The Blue Tiger. The incredibly popular Indian restaurant shares the building and The Foresters Arms supplies the drinks to accompany the amazing food.

It’s a match made in heaven and, makes The Foresters Arms the ideal place for a pre-meal meeting place and pre- or post-meal drink. As there’s a connecting corridor, you can wait in the Foresters until your table is ready.

Ordering is now even easier since the Foresters introduced a new ordering app to keep people safe during the covid pandemic. It means you’ll never miss your turn at the bar again!
