Peace of mind
It can be daunting investing in a new home or property, especially as it’s often the most expensive thing you’ll ever buy.
As you’ll probably be paying your mortgage off over a couple of decades or more, getting the right interest rate available can save you hundreds, if not thousands of pounds over the life of your investment.
Then there are all the other things to think about. How much can you borrow? How would they treat my self employed income? How would I go about getting a Buy to Let property? What could the repayments be? Is my life insurance and critical illness cover relevant and still meeting my needs?
All these questions (and more) can be answered by Holme Mortgages, mortgage and protection specialists. They may even be able to save you money by searching the market for a product that best suits you and your financial circumstances.
Friendly, personal service
With the vision of growth and also cementing the business in the local community, Holme Mortgages was born and registered in 2024.
Laura, a local of Honley and the original adviser behind Holme Mortgages, hasn’t always worked as an advisor. In fact, her first career was in sport, working for both Leeds Rhinos and Huddersfield Giants among other rugby league clubs. After settling into her new professional life within the financial services she has continued to flourish whilst having a career that fits around her family life, as well as providing her with job satisfaction.
“I think it’s really helped that I’ve experienced other industries before settling in financial services. I know what it feels like to be at the other side of the table. I’ve bought my first home, I’ve moved house and re-mortgaged, and I know how difficult and stressful all that can be when you’re juggling family, work, and a hundred and one other things. Having time to search for the right mortgage or working out what you need to know is often the last thing on your mind,” said Laura.
“If we can help people by offering a personal mortgage advice service that’s tailored to their needs, at least that’s one worry out of the way,” Laura added.
Working as a self-employed mortgage adviser
One of the reasons Laura chose to be a self-employed adviser, rather than being tied to one specific provider, gives her more opportunity to provide a personal service to every client. As Holme Mortgages have access to an extensive panel of lenders, including exclusive deals not available on the high street, both for mortgages and protection, they can spend time working around the needs and timescales of their clients and search for the most suitable mortgage or insurance plan. This is one of the key values of Holme Mortgages.
Insuring your investment
When you’re borrowing a large sum of money to purchase property, it’s definitely worthwhile considering insuring your investment, especially if you have dependants.
Have a chat with Holme Mortgage and they will recommend the most appropriate cover for your circumstances. They will even help you complete the medical questionnaire, which needs to be full and accurate, otherwise the insurance could fail to pay out when you need it most.
Open and transparent
When it comes to fees, Holme Mortgages will tell you how much you’ll pay and when the money comes due. With a mortgage, for example, you won’t pay a penny until the mortgage is offered, no matter how many meetings, calls or emails it may take.
If you’re thinking of buying, moving or taking out financial insurance, have a chat with Holme Mortgages first, it could be one of the best financial decisions you make.
