Open Law is a solicitors’ practice that does things differently. They moved into Honley, above Valli Opticians, in 2017. They also have an office in Slaithwaite.

The Open Law name was inspired by their open-door policy. Their aim is to help people navigate the often confusing and complicated legal world. Whether they’re dealing with conveyancing (property), family law or private client law (such as wills and probate), Open Law treat clients as people, guiding them carefully through the complexities of the legal system.

Whether you’re buying a new home, filing for divorce, making a will or have lost a love one, your first chat with an Open Law solicitor – known as a discovery call –  is completely free of charge. You’re under no obligation to take things further, but if you like what they have to say, most Open Law legal services work on a fixed fee contract, so you know exactly how much you’ll pay right at the start.

For those legal services that are more open-ended, Open Law will agree terms in advance, keep you updated and can even spread the payments over several months to help with budgeting.

Conveyancing

If you’re buying or renting a new home, or purchasing or leasing your property for your business then have a chat with Open Law’s conveyancing team.

Open Law have seen the problems that arise when someone dies without leaving a will or the will has not been prepared correctly. The team understand that losing a loved one is a time to grieve and they can take away the stress of sorting out the finances, again usually on a fixed fee basis.
