Care in your home
If you or a loved one needs that little bit (or a lot) of support to live independently at home, have a chat with The Care Collection team.
The award-winning company was founded in 2017 by Catherine Haigh, who has worked in the professional care sector for more than 25 years. Starting her own care organisation, however, was a very personal decision.
While searching for suitable care for her son, who has autism and complex learning needs, Catherine struggled to find the personal and professional care she knew he needed. Determined to give her son the best care possible, Catherine created a company offering exactly what she’d been searching for: high quality, client-focused, personalised care.
“I know from personal experience how difficult it can be to understand and navigate the health and social care system. Finding the right care for your family and loved ones can be frustrating, exhausting and emotionally draining. That’s why at The Care Collection we build a package of care based around a person’s individual needs,” said Catherine.
Who do The Care Collection help?
Unusually, The Care Collection help people of all ages – including children from birth – who require care and support to live in their own home. Levels of care range from companionship to helping those with complex medical conditions that require live-in care.
“Some of our clients just want someone to talk to, or help with daily tasks such as shopping or taking medication, while others have conditions that require 24-hour care. Our clients are all individual, which is why our care is prescriptive to their needs,” said Catherine.
Members of the team are specially trained to care for children and young people with learning or physical disabilities. It gives families support and respite knowing that their child is in safe hands.
And there’s no compromise on care, or rushing off to the next appointment. There’s a minimum 1-hour visit, which gives the care team time to look after every client properly.
Why choose The Care Collection?
One of the things that sets The Care Collection apart is its attention to detail. They get to know their clients – likes, dislikes and care needs – and match them with the right carer. Even personality is taken into consideration to make sure that the client and carer work well together.
Offering the right care at the right time is also important to The Care Collection. If a person needs help with breakfast for example, the team will be there at breakfast time.
For peace of mind, The Care Collection is fully accredited and carers receive mandatory training. In fact, professional training is ongoing to make sure The Care Collection’s high standards are maintained at all times. If you need any more reassurance, The Care Collection has a ‘good’ CQC rating.
Isn’t private care expensive?
As with anything, the cost depends on the level of care required. In certain circumstances, private care that enables an individual to remain in their own home can be much more cost effective than long-term residential care. And often the person is happier being in familiar surroundings. If you’re considering care for a couple, the savings can be even greater.
While most of The Care Collection’s work is with private clients, the company also provides council-led domiciliary care within Kirklees, Calderdale and Wakefield.
Why not work for The Care Collection?
Having the right staff is important and The Care Collection are always on the lookout for new people to become part of the team. Full training is provided, and pay and conditions are highly competitive within the industry. Flexible contracts for full and part-time hours are available too.
Experience in the care sector isn’t necessary either. Members of The Care Collection team come from all backgrounds, some are semi-retired, while others want a change of career and a chance to do something more meaningful. What they all have in common is a desire to provide the best care for their clients. Have a chat with Catherine if you’re interested in joining the team.
