1,000 Mile (2,000,000 steps) 2024 Walking Challenge | Honley Male Voice Choir

On 1st January this year, 18 members and supporters of Honley Male Voice Choir began stepping out to raise money for two great causes. Each volunteer committed to walking 1,000 miles (2,000,000 steps) during 2024 for mental health and wellbeing to help raise funds for Huddersfield mental health charity Platform 1 and the choir; the monies raised will be split equally. The challenge ends on 31st December.

Platform 1 has been the choir’s ‘Charity of the Year’ for the last three years and the fundraiser aims to improve services, raise awareness, and promote understanding for anyone experiencing a mental health problem – one step at a time!

Their intrepid walkers have reached the halfway point and between them have covered an amazing 14,143 miles and completed 31,302,799 steps.
