Event Details

Join us for an interesting talk from Helen Harrison about how babies and toddlers develop language from their earliest moments.

Together we will explore how we as parents, carers, and as a community can nurture the development of language skills and ignite a lifelong love of reading for all children.

The talk will give an overview of the key elements required for language and how language impacts all other areas of a child’s development as well as practical ideas for fostering language.

This session might be of interest to parents/carers with young children, early years practitioners and anyone with an interest in child development.

Helen was an Early Childhood practitioner for many years and is now a lecturer in Early Childhood Studies at Sheffield Hallam University and very happily volunteers with the ‘Babies into Books’ group at Honley Library.

To book a place for Helen’s talk please text her on 07469 939426.

Refreshments will be available. The event is free but donations to FoHL are welcome.
