Record Crowds at Honley Show 2022
Sun and Record Crowds
The sun shone to order for record crowds who visited this year’s Honley Show.
Organisers said the good weather, combined with ease of access from Honley, Holmfirth and Meltham, meant that thousands of people flocked to the new venue.
This year, the popular show returned on a new and later date – July 23, 2022 – and at its new venue on Wilshaw Mill Road in Wilshaw.
Organisers would like to thank everyone who supported the competitive and fun-filled family show, including the many sponsors, volunteers, traders, caterers, exhibitors and competitors, as well as members of the public who attended in their thousands.
Show President Peter Aspinall, said: “We are absolutely delighted with the appetite that people had for the show this year. When people come and so obviously enjoy themselves, it makes all the effort worthwhile.”
The Event Takes Great ‘Horsepower’
The Honley Show is one of the most prestigious, well attended and respected one day agricultural shows in the county.
Traditional but always surprising, there’s something new every year to help make it a great day out for kids and adults alike. The successful 2022 show saw a popular return to largescale agricultural competitions, as well as the usual fun-filled entertainment for all the family.
Peter added: “It is a huge effort and now the show is finished for 2022, we would really love to hear from people who would like to help us make future shows a reality.
“We have several gaps on the committee which we would love to fill. We are looking for energetic and enthusiastic people who support our values and would enjoy delivering a top-notch agricultural show to their local community.”
Committee meetings are held on the first Tuesday of every month. Anyone who would like to find out more or who can volunteer, can contact the committee through Facebook.
